Embracing Obstacles
Why Resisting Them Only Makes Things Harder

Recently, I started training to have my first professional Muay Thai fight. It's been a challenging but rewarding experience, and I'm excited to see how far I can go with it.
A year ago, I faced a major obstacle. I was working on creating an ambitious community event idea with my housemate. I was working full-time, inexperienced, and afraid to try something new. It took a lot of courage and hard work, but I eventually decided to take the leap and pursue the unknown path. While it was difficult at first, it ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made. 37 people participated in the communty event and we raised money for 3 charities in the process.

One of the most important lessons I've learned from facing obstacles is the importance of embracing them, rather than resisting or avoiding them. As Ryan Holiday writes in his book "The Obstacle is the Way," obstacles are often opportunities in disguise. They can help us develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset that can serve us well in all areas of life. By embracing obstacles and using them as a chance to learn and grow, we can turn what could have been setbacks into opportunities for success.
In my own experience, I've found that the things that challenge me the most are often the things that help me grow the most. Whether it's learning a new skill, facing a difficult situation, or pursuing a new career path, the obstacles we encounter can be valuable opportunities for personal growth and development. By embracing them and using them as a chance to learn and improve, we can build resilience, confidence, and a sense of purpose that can help us succeed in all areas of life.
I encourage you to approach obstacles with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Don't be afraid to take risks or try new things, even if they seem difficult or intimidating at first. Remember, the obstacle is the way, and by embracing it, you can turn challenges into opportunities for growth and success.
